The gameplay itself is fairly straight forward although there are a number of tools that can be picked up or "purchased" in between levels. These include weapons, health, magnets that attract "atoms" (the things that the baddies provide when they die), etc.
You can choose between drac, frank, or wolfie and as expected each has different attributes (speed/power/strength). Unlike Super Mario Bros. you cannot switch between characters mid-level.
As an occasional gamer (and a generally old dude) I wasn't as fond of this title's gameplay although I can clearly see the appeal for the everyday gamer. The gameplay was somewhat repetative and required more quickness on the game pad than logic (told you I was an old dude :->).
One distinct rarity for a non-nintendo produced title is the built-in game saving feature which in itself is reason enough to buy this title: to prove to the manufactures that we would rather not have to scribble down long tedious codes on little scraps of paper.
