Nintendo's latest console is a great system overall. It beats Sony's PS2 power wise, but is weaker than XBOX. But the main reason to buy this system is the games. Though many people think the system is for little kids. ITS NOT!!! It has a wide selection of games for all ages. Some the titles that look "kiddy" are some of the hardest games to play on the system, for example, Super Monkey Ball. Nintendo has all of its major franchises on this system.

THere are so many quality games for this system and many support connectivity with Nintendo's hanheld, the game boy advance. Many of these games are also exclusive to the system.
But if you are looking for sport games...This may not be the system for you. BUt they're coming out with a new Madden and Tiger Woods.

In comparison with PS2 games, the Gamecube's library is much smaller but has almost as many quality games.

In comparison with XBOX games, the Gamecube is better. THe XBOX has fewer quality games. BUt the XBOX has the best online plan.

Overall, the Gamecube is a great system to own because of its flagship titles. And right now you get a free game with the system. What a Great Deal. I suggest getting Zelda or Metroid. The GAmecube is worth buying!

In late 2001, Nintendo released its latest console - The Gamecube (or GCN.) The new console would be doing battle with the other two big consoles - The Playstation 2, and the XBOX. To this day the battles for sales continue. Read on for pros and cons on this system.

PROS:
-Nintendo's first 128-bit system
-More affordable than other next-gen consoles
-Small size makes it easy to transport
-Features the most comfortable controller ever made for any system
-Large variety of games (this ISN'T just a kid's system)
-Can be connected to Game Boy Advance with some games
-Many games are available on this system only
-More powerful than the PS2
-Nintendo is the most trusted name in gaming
-With an LCD screen (sold separately,) you can make the system portable
-A reliable wireless controller is available

CONS:
-It uses discs, not cartridges. Discs can't save data, so you need a memory card. Likewise, it doesn't have a hard drive like the XBOX.
-No DVD player. This is a feature considered standard on most modern consoles.
-Only a handful of games are worth playing (these include Metroid Prime and The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker)
-Variety of games pales in comparison to the PS2
-Not quite as powerful a system as the XBOX
-Only includes one controller, and NO game
-Not enough "anthology" games (collections of games from past Nintendo systems)

Overall this is an excellent systems, but you may want to look the shortcomings over before you make the purchase. Still, Nintendo is the most trusted name in video gaming, and this console, in many ways, shows you why.

The Nuntendo Gamecube is the best game system I ever got my hands on! I have a Gameboy Advance (not SP). I don't think that the Gameboy works as well as the Gamecube. The screen on the Gameboy is too small. I like the Gamecube because it plays on the big screen TV. The Gameboy Player makes playing Gameboy games a lot easier. I rairly use my Gameboy, but play some Nintendo Gamecube games. I don't normally play Gameboy games unless I like the game and use the Gameboy Player.
