This game rules!I mean, who doesn't want to see a massive golden soldier (aka colossus a greek myth unit) crushing buildings with his rather large hands until a fiery bird swoops and and starts attacking him(egyptian pheonix). This is but a small example about this lets take it up a little. Your opponent is sending in an army 10 times the size of yours, your doomed, unless you use the big kahuna, one of your god powers meteor shower! Almost the entire bulk of your enemies army is crushed under massive burning rocks.very cool.It is also good cause you can learn alot from this game, like greek, norse, and egyptian gods. Plus about ancient battles like the trojan war, and real myths like .ones about the hydra and cyclops, or about other cultures beliefs like the norse ragnarok.

You can build magnificent cities and train grand armies. Each civilization has its strengths and weaknesses + their own heroes, mortal units,(basic infantry like archer spearmen and ooo so much more!) and last but not least their own choosable Myth Units. The stars of the game are MU's (Myth units)have special abilities and powers such as eating trees to heal itself (colossus unit) or growing heads after defeating an enemy (hydra unit). I would recommend this game to anyone from 8 to 91!!

Age of Empires sucked away 6 months of my life by itself and more time in concert with a few other games so it came as no surprise that I bought this game. I loved AoE II, it's possibly the greatest RTS ever made, and I've played quite a few over time. Unfortunately AoM is not quite the game its predecessor was.

Age of Mythology comes with something rare in Ensemble's series of games: a single player campaign. The campaign goes through each civilization in their own land to fight an evil god that wants to kill you, of course. The campaign runs about 30 missions and is merely ok. It's not quite epic, but it's not that bad.

But the Age games aren't known for their campaigns, but their skirmishes and multiplayer games. There have been some changes to the game such as the ability to only build 10 houses. After that you have to take over the pre-defined town center areas to raise your population. Relics no longer add to your gold supply, but give special abilities and bonuses. The interface is the same with a few changes. One of these infuriates me! There is no hotkey to stop the units. Command and Conquer started this and I can't use the friggin "s" key to stop my guys! How foul it tis!

The usual unit counters are in place with the added myth units. These units kill things like it was second nature. They can be taken down, especially by hero units. Each civilization is given their own units such as the Norse and their Giants, the Egyptians and their Annubites, and the Greek with their Hydra. There is a wide range and each myth unit is assigned to one god. Gods are chosen each time you advance to the next age. Included with the myth units come specail technologies and the wildly entertaining god powers. These powers make the game, easily said. They range from summoning sheep to your town to raining fire on your opponent. If used effectively it can mean the end for your enemies game and send you one step closer to victory. It really is fun to watch rocks land on those crazy egyptian rock slingers, sending them flying 50 meters into the air. Ahh, the delight.

With the god powers aside, Age of Mythology is simply... a little bit above average. The units are balanced and everything works well but it just isn't the same. Maybe it's because there are no trebuchets? That's my theory at least. Heaving boulders through the air never got old, so where are my friggin trebuchets? Huh?!

The Titans Expansion is the add-on to Age of Mythology. It provides a load of new features, including a fantastic campaign featuring the Titans of Tartarus. You play as Kastor, the son of Arkantos, (hero of the Age of Mythology campaign), to rid the world of the Titans escaping from Tartarus. Throughout the campaign, you have to use strategy to defeat the large, hulking Titans with massive HP and attack numbers.

There is also a new civilization introduced in the Titans, the Atlanteans. The Atlanteans are different from the rest of the civilizations in many ways. For example, the Atlanteans gain favor from their Town Centers, quite like how the Egyptians gain favor from building monuments. Also, their villagers gather and build much more quickly than other civilizations, but at a cost. They are more expensive and require a longer period of time to train. However, citizens can be transformed into Heroes by the click of a button, (and quite a bit of resources). When you choose the Atlanteans, you worship one of three gods, Kronos, Gaia, or Oranos. Each of them have unique powers that greatly benefit your civilization. Kronos has a power that lets you Time Shift your buildings, literally uproot one from the ground and transport it to another place within your line of sight. Oranos lets you build Sky Passages that can transport your troops and citizens across all sorts of terrain. And finally, Gaia creates Lush around all of her buildings, making it so that no enemy can build there. Also, some Atlantean god powers can be used more than once such as Shockwave. Shockwave stuns enemy units in a certain area and can be used three times. However, to use it again, you must wait for a certain period of time, which varies which each god power.
A few reasons I like this expansion is because of the new campaign, the new random maps it introduces, the changes to the Scenario Editor, the new god powers, and the Titans. Yes, the Titans. The Titans are the massive creatures that can win or lose a game. First, you must advance to the Titan Age and build a Titan Gate, which takes a very long time to build. Then, your mighty Titan will be summoned to wreak havoc on your enemy. Overall, I believe that the Titans Expansion is an excellent addition to Age of Mythology.
