Deadly Alliance is the best Mortal Kombat to date. It has just about everything that an MK fan should want. All veterans of the game will be impressed as well as beginners. However, just like every other game, it has a few flaws to go with it. Below are some of the pros and cons of Deadly Alliance.

PROS:
- All new 3D environment for excellent gameplay
- Authentic Martial Arts far better than any other Mortal Kombat
- New characters (Kenshi, Mavado, Hsu Hao, Nitara, Frost)
- Enhanced storyline
- Konquest mode (allows you to train and become the best fighter)
- New Arenas
- Originators of Mortal Kombat (Raiden, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kung Lao, Sonya, Kano)
- MK History (video)
- The Krypt (allows you to purchase hidden characters, arenas, team photos, koncept art, and alternate costumes)

Cons:
- No stage fatalities, brutalities, or animalities (that's what made Mortal Kombat popular in the first place)
- No Liu Kang (How do you have a Mortal Kombat without one of its originators and champion?)

Overall, it's a superb game that will keep you playing for a long time. It is highly recommended for any fan of fighting games and is a 'must play' for all MK fans.

This is a fairly entertaining addition to the Mortal Komabat series. The 3D is basically 2D with the optionof stepping up or down to dodge punches. This makes the game pretty easy to play which is nice for newer players. Each fighter as two fighting styles and a weapon which allows maximum damage but also makes you more vulnerable to enemy attacks. The characters are pretty cool but the fatalities are just plain lame. Some of them are just trying too hard to be gory and just end up looking like cartoons. For example, Johnny Cage rips out three organs but they all look the same. One major complaint is that my own favorite character Liu Chang is killed in the opening so his character is not available in this game. On the plus side, Deadly Alliance has tons of extras, a crypt of over six hunderd unlockable pictures, videos, characters, arenas, etc. It also has a profile creator which allows you to keep a running total on your win loss percentage against your friends. Not the best fighting game out there but a good one with plenty of entertainment value.

Mortal Kombat games have always been great, but this one is the best. The graphics are perfect, the gameplay is perfect, and everything else about it is perfect. It has many classic characters back and looking better than ever. The best part about the game is that there is so much to unlock. With many characters, arenas, and 3 fighting styles with each character, this is without a doubt the best fighting game for the PS2.
