This product clearly states Use only with official PlayStation 2 memory card .

I bought the expantion pak about a year ago it is working great.I never have ran out of memory and there is no disk to put in. the price has droped since I bought mine. I recomend purchasing one.

Sometimes, saving a few bucks isn't worth it. Enter the PS2 16MB Expansion Pak from Intec. I have learned my lesson. Buy only original PS2 memory cards if you don't want the agony of defeat. The sad but true story:
I wanted to have more memory to save all those humongous files from some of the more complex games that I have such as Final Fantasy X, Stuntman, etc. However, shelling out $24 for an original memory card from Sony didn't appeal to me so I opted for the Intec Expansion pak. The way it works is that you plug in a legitimate Sony PS2 memory card into the back of the unit. The expansion pak then fools the PS2 into thinking that it is actually 16MB bigger. You have a total now of 24MB. In other words, you have the capacity of three memory cards when using the pak. It was easy to use and I crammed the pak with many files until one day...I had a file that would not save. When I viewed the memory card from the Sony PS2's main menu, it said that there was a corrupt file on there. No big deal, I thought to myself. I still have 12MB worth of memory on the card. This was about 2 months ago. The card worked fine all the way up until it blew up on me. Yesterday, while saving another file to the Intec, the card suddenly failed to save. When I viewed the contents of the card with the PS2 browser, guess what? The Intec 16MB pak said that there was "no data" on the card. All of my previous game saves went into space. I will not buy another product from Intec ever again. I have been burned before by this company with their substandard memory card products. A warning to the wise- If saving games is crucial to you, do not buy any memory devices from Intec. They are unreliable and they will break your heart. Lucky for them that I am not prone to violence. However, I have this phaser that I picked up from Talos IV that might be fun to use on Intec headquarters. ;)
