Amazon Marketplace Possible Alternative For SimpleTech SDRAM
Rating: 2/5
If anyone considering purchasing additional RAM for their PC has concerns about the SimpleTech chipsets...There are several Crucial.com/Micron Chipsets available from a private seller for less total cost!
Crucial/Micron is very well known and respected top brand... (I have never had any problems whatsoever with RAM/motherboard-mainboard compatibility and their chips).
If in doubt...go to their site at: http://www.crucial.com where they have a memory advisor config tool, based upon your PC mfgr & model number...once you enter those, it returns compatible memory for your PC (their brand of course), but take a look at the specs supplied & pay attention to details such as buffered/unbuffered, ECC or non-parity, CL = 3 or CL = 2, is it 16X64MB or 32X64MB config, etc.
Then if you find one of their brand that works in your PC...find a "like new" one for sale here on the Amazon.com site...you'll save a lot (versus buying 'new' from the OEM/vendor directly) RAM either works or it doesn't, 'new' or 'used' makes no difference to your PC (but buying used can make a big difference to your wallet/purse).
Try it...you'll see!
IT IS NOT WORTH THE COST

do not even think about spending your money on this kind of memory it is just a waste of time i tried this memory and just like others said it will not count up all of the memory.
Check With Simpletech before you buy (ditto!)
Rating: 2/5
Like the previous reviewer, I purchased this and my motherboard could only detect 128M (half the memory). My motherboard takes 256M PC100 non-ECC unbuffered SDRAM, so I thought this would work.
Simpletech has an easy-to-use compatibility calculator on their web site, so go there first and come back here to buy! I also found their instant-message based tech support speedy and helpful.
