No cradle, but uses a STANDARD miniusb cable... same one as my Intel mp3 player and olympus digicam in fact. Even charges via usb (though slower than witht the included ac adapter,) not bad at all. Bye-bye to my cradles.

Gorgeous screen, very high resolution is easy on my eyes. Still fits in my pocket like the M505, with my wallet :)

Comes with tons of great software, had no trouble with word, excel, powerpoint, videos, pictures, (stuff beyond what I even want this organizer for.) All my old info imported without a hitch, right from Outlook.

Versamail works fine, even sees my exchange server, etc. Doesn't crash like some people said- as long as you spend the time to properly set it up!

The screen is ultra-sensitive.. barely needs a tap. Even comes with a screen protector (that plastic film.)

Body is made of metallic plastic like the IPaq.. looks shiny like a mirror, and seems durable (not like the cheap paint on phones.) Very classy looking left-folding cover to protect the screen when it's in your pocket.

Down-button is a little hard to push. oh well.

I use this for the calendar, appointments, contacts, and foreign dictionaries (they run a lot faster on the internal memory now.. don't need the SD card.) UPDATE: Just put in a ton of mp3s on an SD card and this thing is amazing. It can even drive my Sennheiser HD-580 headphones =) (Yes it's a STANDARD 3.5mm plug!!)

The handheld itself is great. I upgraded from a Palm m100. The color screen is beautiful and the bundled software is a nice feature. My only complaint with the device is that it seems to transfer data to the SD slot slowly. I've tried transferring some MP3s to the card and it takes FOREVER! The sync typically fails if I try to sync more than two songs at a time. With a 128MB card, the idea of synching up 20 times to fill up the card with music doesn't appeal to me.

For adventures in customer support with Palm, read on. Bottom line, limited technical support from Palm has made me regret my purchase of the Tungsten E.

I purchased my Tungsten E from Amazon in October, 2003. No problems there. In January of 2004, the handheld kept turning itself on for no apparent reason. To my intense displeasure, I found out that Palm cuts of telephone support for the Tungsten E at 90 days. After that, you have to pay about $25 US per call.

Obviously, if you're buying an E, you're concerned about your budget. As a result, there is no way that I'm going to pay 1/8th of the cost of the handheld to call them when their product malfunctions. After three email exchanges with Palm Support, my issue still hasn't been resolved. I've had to perform a few hard resets (hold down the power button and hit the reset button in the back to perform a hard reset) to no avail.

THIS IS A GREAT HANDHELD. I AM A "REGULAR" AT THE PALMONE STORE, THIS WAS MY SECOND PALMONE IN TWO MONTHS (nothing was wrong with the other i just felt like an upgrade.) Right now i currently have a Zire 31 and a T-E. This screen is AWESOME!!! The screen is almost 2 times bigger than the Zire 31 with much better resolution. (160 X 160 compared to 320 X 320)The memory IS 2 times larger. I like having the 4 quick buttons instead of two. I also dont use the keypad lock anymore because i have a slim leather case that blocks the quick buttons from being hit and the power button is on top. I also like that you can xhange the star icon on the screen to be a favorite program instead of hot sync.
