Under the Bridge on Burke Trail, Burke Trail

When you're trying to bridge the gap between nature and urban life, literally.

After more biking, I found myself under one of Seattle’s iconic bridges. The sheer scale of this steel giant above me was both intimidating and awe-inspiring. It’s like standing under a modern-day colossus, a testament to human ingenuity and, perhaps, our need to leave a mark on the landscape. The steel beams crisscrossed like the veins of some urban beast, holding up the weight of the world above. Below, the water shimmered in the afternoon sun, reflecting the lush greenery and the boats gently bobbing along the shore. It’s funny how a simple walk can lead you to such striking juxtapositions. One minute, you’re enveloped in nature, and the next, you’re dwarfed by human engineering. The contrast is both jarring and beautiful. The Burke Trail never ceases to surprise me. Now, let’s see what other hidden gems this trail has in store.
