Rusty Relics in Lightning Ridge, Bourke
When your ride is so old, it could be an artifact in a museum!
In the sun-drenched expanse of Lightning Ridge, I came across a poignant reminder of days gone by—an old truck standing stoically on a gravel road. Its once vibrant paint now faded and overtaken by rust, this relic bore the marks of countless years under the harsh Australian sun. Attached to its back was an antique mining rig, a testament to the town's storied past as an opal mining hub. Nearby, another rusted vehicle and some forgotten industrial equipment peeked through the tall green bushes. The clear blue sky overhead seemed almost mocking in its perfection, highlighting the contrast between nature's enduring beauty and man's ephemeral creations. This scene was more than just a collection of old machinery; it was a silent narrative of resilience and decay, a snapshot of history frozen in time.
