Cluster of Cacti in Lightning Ridge, Bourke

When social distancing isn't an option!

In the rugged terrain of Lightning Ridge, I found myself drawn to a remarkable sight—a dense cluster of cacti huddled together as if in mutual solidarity. Each cactus was a perfect sphere adorned with evenly spaced spines that radiated outward like nature's own defense mechanism. The tops displayed a mesmerizing pattern of green and white, with the centers slightly lighter in color. Beneath them lay a bed of dry soil and small pebbles, typical of this arid environment. The sheer density and texture of these plants were captivating, each one contributing to a larger tapestry of resilience and survival. It was a poignant reminder that even in the most challenging conditions, life finds a way to not only endure but also thrive.
