Steep Rocky Path on Overland Track, Cradle Wombat

When the mountain says 'No shortcuts!'

The Overland Track never fails to surprise. Today’s highlight was a steep and rugged section that tested every muscle in my legs. The path was a chaotic assembly of jagged rocks, made somewhat manageable by a chain railing. Sparse vegetation clung to the rocks, each shrub lightly dusted with snow. Wooden steps had been thoughtfully placed in some sections to assist weary hikers like myself. As I climbed higher, the mist thickened, obscuring any distant views but adding an air of mystery to the journey. Each step on this rugged path felt like a small victory against nature's relentless challenges.
