Taroko, east coast

When nature decides to show off, even temples get a front-row seat.

As you venture deeper into Taroko Gorge, the landscape continues to play its symphony of awe. The Eternal Spring Shrine, perched on the mountainside, seems almost defiant against the rugged backdrop, as if challenging nature itself. The waterfalls cascading beside it add a touch of serenity to the otherwise imposing cliffs. It's the kind of place where you start to question why you ever thought skyscrapers were impressive. Here, the mountains laugh at our concrete jungles and the river mocks our artificial lakes. It's a humbling experience, to say the least. And just when you think you've seen it all, the mist rolls in, obscuring the peaks and leaving you with a sense of mystery. It's like nature's way of saying, 'You haven't seen anything yet.' So you keep walking, because what else can you do? The gorge beckons, and you follow, eager to see what other secrets it holds.
