San Sien Tai, east coast

When the bridge to nowhere is actually a bridge to somewhere mysterious.

As I approached the San Sien Tai Bridge, the scene before me felt like something out of a dream. The red-brick path, with its elegant white railings, stretched out towards the island like a welcoming gesture from nature itself. The overcast sky added a touch of drama, making the vibrant greenery of the island and the rugged coastline stand out even more. It’s the kind of place that makes you wonder if nature and architecture had a secret meeting to plan this perfect tableau. The bridge, with its graceful curves and steps, seemed almost defiant against the rough, rocky terrain. It’s a testament to human ingenuity and our desire to connect with the unknown. As I watched a few brave souls walk across, I couldn’t help but imagine them as modern-day explorers, venturing into the unknown, albeit with a bit more Instagramming. The island in the background, shrouded in mist and mystery, seemed like the perfect setting for an epic saga. Perhaps a tale of three immortals who, according to local legend, landed here centuries ago. The rocky coastline, with its jagged edges and sparse vegetation, only added to the sense of adventure. Standing there, I felt a mix of awe and humility. Here I was, a mere traveler, trying to capture the essence of a place that had stood the test of time. The bridge, the island, the ocean – they all seemed to whisper stories of ancient times and forgotten legends. It’s a humbling experience, knowing that long after we’re gone, this place will continue to inspire wonder and awe. And so, with a sense of reverence and curiosity, I continued my journey along Taiwan’s east coast, eager to uncover more of its secrets. Each turn of the road promised new vistas and deeper reflections, making me question the sanity of city living and the constant hustle and bustle. Here, amidst the raw beauty of nature, one can truly appreciate the simple things in life.
