Shifen old street, taipei

When your bike takes a break to make a wish.

Wandering through Shifen Old Street (十分老街), I stumbled upon an intriguing sight—two weathered bicycles leaning against a fence adorned with bamboo tubes. Each tube bore inscriptions of wishes and dreams, hanging densely like silent prayers waiting to be answered. The bicycles themselves seemed to have stories to tell; their rusted frames spoke of journeys long past. The juxtaposition of metal and bamboo, of human ambition and natural serenity, was striking. It's in places like these that one contemplates the absurdity of our desires against the backdrop of time. The greenery around added a touch of life to this tableau of stillness. Here in Pingxi District (平溪區), far from the hurried pace of city life, one finds a moment to pause and reflect on the ephemeral nature of dreams.
