Birds of Taipei Zoo, taipei

“When you’re overdressed for a casual branch meeting.”

After the philosophical musings with the mountain goats, I decided to explore more of the Taipei Zoo and found myself at the bird enclosure. There, perched majestically on a branch, was this stunning avian wonder. With feathers that shimmered like an artist’s palette, this bird looked like it had just stepped out of a mythical storybook. The iridescent hues of blue, green, and yellow were so vivid, it made me question my own wardrobe choices.

It's funny how a bird can look so regal and composed, while I’m over here trying to remember if I brushed my hair this morning. The backdrop of lush greenery blurred into a soft focus, making the bird’s colors pop even more. It was as if nature itself had decided to highlight this feathered marvel just for me.

Standing there, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy. Here was this bird, living its best life in a five-star aviary, while I’m still figuring out how to keep my houseplants alive. Maybe there’s a lesson in that – about finding beauty in simplicity, or maybe it’s just about appreciating the effortless elegance of nature. Either way, it was a moment of pure, unfiltered awe.

Stay tuned as I continue to uncover the hidden gems of Taipei, one colorful encounter at a time. Who knows what other stories this city holds? And more importantly, how many involve getting lost in translation?
